Safari Mombasa Beach Holiday
This sultry area offers interesting things to see, beaches to relax on and beautiful nature reserves to visit. Mombassa lies on the coast and is a bustling city with a history stretching back to the 12th century. There is a vibrant mixture of cultures, architecture and entertainment. At the Shimba Hills National Reserve, you will encounter a lovely forest setting with elephant, leopard and the rare, sable antelope. Towards the south, there are a number of beaches and resort hotels.
The beaches are white and sandy with coral reefs to delight scuba and skin divers. On the pleasant Shimoni and Wasini islands there is authentic Swahili culture and a protected marine reserve. North of Mombasa there are several beaches like Nyali, Bamburi, Shanzu, Kikambala and Vipingo that are well-worth a visit. It is here that you will find the exotic town of Kilifi, home to artists and adventurers from all over the world.
The morning begins by transferring you to the dhow “Nawalikher” while in mombasa and would like to do some ocean tour, meaning Gateway to Heaven. Sail gently down the Mombassa creek while you sip cocktails and your tour leader points out places of interest and recalls anecdotes of the East Africa coast’s colorful past. An excellent four course dinner with a choice of seafood or a meat course is the highlight of the evening.
The second day you can also some city tour around the town. The day begins with a tour of Mombassa, including a visit to the famous Fort Jesus and the Akamba wood carvers. After lunch at a local restaurant, travel to Haller Park (formerly known as the Bamburi Nature Trail). The area was reclaimed from a coal quarry and turned into a nature trail. Hippos, buffalo, antelope and bird-life may be seen together with fish that is to be found on the Fish Farm within the park.

Along Bamburi Beach – 13 km north of Mombasa Town, Whitesands Hotel is one of the largest resorts on the East African coast, located north of Mombasa on one of the finest beaches in the area, Bamburi Beach. The resort features 340 rooms and suites all with
balconies, nestling in 22 acres amongst palms and fragrant frangipani trees. The palatial public areas and Arabic style architecture enhance the exotic locale, adding to the feeling of truly being transposed to a paradise on earth.

VOYAGER BEACH RESORT:

MOMBASA SERENA BEACH HOTEL
Along Shanzu Beach – 25 km north of Mombasa Town Laid out as a Lamu style village, shaded by towering palm trees and draped in bougainvillea, the hotel is one of the “Leading Hotels of the World”.
