Poker Calculator News: Some great minds behind Poker Software
If youâ ™ € I've been around the online poker world long enough, chances industry awareness of the sub-site dedicated to self-analysis tools. Overall, these are programs to grab all the records Hand and generate statistics on your play, in the service of self-analysis, so you can find your weaknesses and improve. In general, the industry leader in this field Poker Tracker has been preferred by online communities, very respectable. Certainly, Poker Tracker has become the benchmark for comparing the new products, and I would say with good reason. I myself for a while, with a modest database of about 55K hands.
Youâ € ™ ll notice careful reader I say, â € œhas been Poker Tracker, â € because I submit to your consideration that a new benchmark has been established. The good people of Poker Academy have kindly now we Prospector.
Who are the â € € œgood peoplee Poker Academy? Well this is critical to our discussion, because in our midst of all the poker software designers in this industry is the presence of some very good honor to distinguished researchers from the University, recognized throughout the world.
The researchers came to fame in July 2007 when an event occurred in Vancouver, BC, Canada, which highlighted the first man vs Machine Poker Championship. This contest pitted Phil Laak € â € œUnabomberâ (which is a big fan of poker mathematics themselves same) and Prince Ali Esmali against Polaris, a limit of AI € ™ em Holda expert system developed by the University of Alberta Poker Research Group in Computer Science. The final score was 2-1-1 for man, not exactly a ringing blow for Homo sapiens, but Phil Laak was very good and played his game to win more favorable here. The battle was actually described as strenuous by both human beings. Polaris, â € € œMachineâ apparently had no comment on the game. My main point here is, yes, there is a group of AI researchers pushing the envelope in the theory games and decision making with incomplete information, using poker as a model.
Use AI (artificial intelligence) to solve information problems Incomplete has potential implications for political science, economics, emergency management, war, stock markets, climate change, and did I mention these guys are very serious brain trust? The group's leader, Darse Billings, titled his Ph.D. thesis, â € œAlgorithms and Evaluation in Computer Póker.es € If you have the time and are willing to make the effort, which essentially provides the road map for teaching computers to play poker, in particular how to deal with misinformation (bluff) and incomplete information (not to see his opponents hole cards ™ €), with suggestions about the broader implications of the decision-making problems in real time, dynamic, complex situations.
Soon, with great minds like these product development people, my sense is that there will be software, where the term â € € œBOTâ Wona € ™ t just make justice to the depth and capacity of poker software in the future.
